To celebrate the CFUW’s 100th Anniversary, the local, regional and national levels of CFUW have as their goal the provision of an additional $100,000 in scholarships and awards in 2019.

To date, over $85,000 has been committed/received for local and national awards from 26 Clubs, three Regional Councils, the CFUW Charitable Trust and the Camino Fundraiser.

The 100th Anniversary Scholarship Project Committee now has representation from across Canada. Members, Jeannette Mergens (BC) Carol Hare (ON) and Janice Moores (NLD) and Susan Murphy have been busy and we are moving closer to our goal of $100,000 in 2019.

100th Anniversay Matching Gift Campaign

In January, the CFUW Board of Directors approved a “Matching Gift Campaign” giving donors the opportunity to double their contributions to the Project. This exciting campaign will be introduced at the AGM in St. Catharines and will run until the 2017 AGM in Richmond.

The October 2015 Club Survey confirmed that a majority of Clubs are planning to participate in the Scholarship Project; 2/3 of respondents reported having a plan to give additional local awards with the phrase “CFUW 100th Anniversary” in the name; 1/3 reported a plan to give a donation to the CFUW Charitable Trust to help fund additional awards through the national Fellowships program in 2019, and 70% were aware of the communications about the Project.

We look forward to participation from across the country for 2019 and want to hear from you!
