Post-secondary education (PSE) credentials lay the foundation for future employment opportunities and narrow the wage gap for people with disabilities; however, they make up only a small proportion of those attending PSE and face barriers and discrimination in access.
Michelle’s research will examine how the intersecting social identities of gender and disability influence PSE transition experience of men and women with physical disabilities. Exploring gender and disability specific transition experiences is important to help identify and reduce disability and gender related obstacles to education and training.
