I am an interdisciplinary artist based in Montreal, working across sculpture, installation, video, performance, and drawing. My practice explores how trauma from sexual violence can be expressed through visual, material, and embodied approaches, expanding testimony beyond word-based means. I am attentive to how systems meant to provide care or justice can reinforce harm, prioritizing procedural norms while overlooking the nuanced, lived impacts of trauma that rarely find space in official accounts.

Through interdisciplinary research and the creation of artworks rooted in my own experience as a survivor, I am developing visual strategies to communicate trauma’s embodied effects. “74 Minutes,” for example, is a series of drawings I created in court in 2016, one for every minute of the perpetrator’s testimony. Clutching a pen, my shaking hand became a seismometer, translating involuntary tremors into abstract clusters of marks on paper. Years later, displayed on the gallery wall in a continuous forty-foot line, these drawings form a large-scale, visceral archive of my felt experience at a time when I was not permitted to speak.

Artistic media can reach diverse audiences via public exhibitions and installations, community workshops, and digital platforms. By bringing survivor narratives into these domains––transforming internal experiences into tangible, material forms––my research-creation directly challenges pervasive silencing and stigma surrounding sexual violence. Through the creation and dissemination of visual testimony, I aim to deepen social understanding of gender-based violence, expanding how we recognize, interpret, and respond to survivors’ experiences—offering new ways for survivors to be not only heard but seen.
