There are two groups associated with CFUW Charitable Trust (CT): the CFUW CT Board of Trustees; and the Fellowships Committee. Please consider volunteering for one of these.
A. The CFUW Charitable Trust (CT) (two positions available)
The purpose of the Charitable Trust Board of Trustees is to raise and manage funds for the awarding of fellowships to women Canadian university graduates for advanced study and research.

B. The Fellowships Committee (six positions)
The purpose of this group is to receive and adjudicate Fellowship applications.
If you wish to volunteer for the Fellowship Committee, the Expression of Interest form follows. It is to be returned to Doris Mae Oulton, the CT Trust chair, dmoulton@mymts.net

CFUW Charitable Trust Board of Trustees (two positions available)
This is a Board of six people appointed on a staggered basis, two of whom are appointed by CFUW National Board and four of whom are appointed by the CT Board of Directors. The Trustees are the ‘custodians’ of the CT funds. It will be an exciting year to be involved with the Charitable Trust, since thanks to the work of the 100th Anniversary Scholarship committee we are able to increase the number of scholarships for 2019.

Criteria:
• experience in the ‘managing’ of funds such as those of the Charitable Trust
• experience working on a Board
• fund-raising experience (desirable)
• financial experience (desirable)
Term:
• The appointment will be for three years.

Fellowship Committee
The Charitable Trust has been streamlining the application approval process starting with the introduction of an on-line system this past year. Applications are reviewed electronically, and adjudication will be done by teleconference. The decision-making is normally done in the December– March timeframe. The upcoming 100th Anniversary year will be an exciting one, culminating with the announcement to be made at the 2019 CFUW AGM of an impressive number of winners of our 100th Anniversary Fellowships.
Criteria:
- a doctoral or professional degree or have worked in an area related to one of the areas of the CFUW Fellowships and Awards
- ability to work with online software programs
- experience in and/or knowledge of the research environment in Canada
- competency in both official languages is a desirable asset but is not mandatory
- (for the CFUW Memorial Fellowship a degree in science, mathematics or engineering is required but this is not required for all panelists)
